Parish Church on Sundays

The following is the pattern of services held at the Parish Church on Sunday.

Please note: There may be changes when special services are held (e.g. Mothering Sunday, Remembrance Sunday etc.)

1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th Sunday

8.00 am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer), said celebration
10.00 am Parish Eucharist (Common Worship Order 1), sung Service.
The Laying on of hands is usually available on the first Sunday of each month
6.30 pm Evensong (Book of Common Prayer), sung Service

 4th Sunday (January, March, May, July, September, November)

8.00 am Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer), said celebration
10.00 am Matins (Book of Common Prayer), sung Service
6.30 pm Parish Eucharist (Common Worship Order 1), sung Service

  4th Sunday (February, April, June, August, October, December)

 8.00 am  Holy Communion (Book of Common Prayer), said celebration
 10.00 am  Parish Eucharist (Book of Common Prayer), sung Service
 6.30 pm  Taize Service, Healing Service, Songs of Praise, Compline
   (All are sung Services)

 

Church Centre on Sundays

The following services are held at the Church Centre: 

Every Sunday

10.00 am Family Service of the Word, sung Service

10.00 am Family Communion (approximately every fourth week), sung Service


 Joint Services

 The main Sunday Service at 10.00 am is a Joint Service on several occasions:

 

Patronal Festival - a Joint Parish Eucharist

Education Sunday – a Joint Parish Service with our Church Primary School

Mothering Sunday – a Parade Service with our uniformed groups

Beginning of Christian Aid Week – a Joint Parish Eucharist

Confirmation Service (usually in June)

First Sunday in July – Joint Family Eucharist at the Church Centre

Harvest Thanksgiving -  a Parade Service with our uniformed groups

Remembrance Sunday – An Act of Remembrance

Crib Service - at the Parish Church

Baptism Services

Baptisms are normally held during our 10 am services, on the 2nd Sunday of the month at the Parish Church and the 4th Sunday at the Church Centre.
