Our vision is of a church at the heart of the community, seen as welcoming all in friendship, whether regular worshippers or not, expressed through its range of worship, its concern for those in need, and its commitment to the flourishing of the community of Rusthall.
We demonstrate this Vision by:
- Welcoming all and affirming diversity so that irrespective of social or ethnic origins each person is valued for the enrichment they bring to the church community
- Seeking to witness to the sheer mystery and awesomeness of life and inviting people to share a journey of faith with us
- The Vicar is available to all whether or not they attend church
- Offering a range of styles of worship through our two churches
- Offering a teaching ministry that encourages thoughtful reflection on the Bible and the traditions of the church enabling engagement with today’s world in a creative and critical way, encouraging debate and the expression of diverse views
- Supporting Mission agencies in their work with partner churches around the globe, such as USPG, Mission to Seafarers, Christian Aid
- Participating actively in the wider church in the Deanery and its Synod and ecumenically both in Rusthall and within the town
- Supporting all who are involved in fostering the well-being of the local community, whether in the voluntary or statutory sectors
- Supporting initiatives such as Fair Trade and Debt Relief that promote justice and peace and care for the environment
- Reflecting our heritage and making our buildings available to all
